It's Ok To Take Whatever Time You Need!

https://nz.pinterest.com/pin/AWTWUcxwM_yEgFoEFtwiIEwg40qYjGqRAYyAfrwKJYQV-WiScDWUUP0/

We live in a society that has expectations on when things should be happening in our lives and that we are in a race to succeed, achieve and conquer. The truth is it doesn't matter if you do things back to front, front to back or to take the time you need.

Give the gift of giving YOURSELF time to take as long as you need and to do it in whatever order you wish or it happens in, in the different aspects of your life...to heal, to fall in love, to recover, to build a career, to study, to finish study, to travel, to get married or not, to have children or not. It's not a waste of time to take your time or to do/have things happen in a "different" order because you will find that you are accumulating knowledge, wisdom and growth in the school of life and who you are. After all it's about the journey not the destination and in the words of Miley Cyrus "It's the climb!" ;)

With love
Rainbow :) xoxo

  1. Thank you, I really needed to hear that right now! x
You're right, we should try to free ourselves from the expectations of society, it is our life and our choice what to do with it. :)

  2. ugh this is so great. i'm eighteen, and i've never done any of the dating stuff. i'm always paranoid that people are going to think i'm some sort of weirdo because of that. but the thing is, i only feel weird about it when i think of other people. like, i don't personally feel like i've missed out on a vital part of the teenage years. i just feel weird because societal standards indicate that i'm abnormal. but screw societal standards!! what do they know?

    thanks n.n

    1. It's funny how society's standards can make you feel like crap when really deep down it doesn't worry you all that much. It will happen when it's meant to happen and hell yes to screwing societal standards! How to be boring that's what! :p Have a magical day Kuo! <3

  8. Rainbow, I loved this post so much! It is so easy to fall into societies expectations of how long things should take, but you are 100% right, it doesn't matter what order you do things in or how long it takes you, as long as you are constantly growing and happy! I love all your positivity, it's always much needed! Love you!!! XO -Kim

  12. It's very important that you give yourself the time to recover when things go wrong and you need a chance to get back to where you were before you get to where you were going to go originally and it's easy for something to go wrong, get into a panic and instead of giving yourself chance to get back on your feet and just ending up in more of a mess :)

    1. YEP! I think we often learn that one the hard way, I found I really have to break it all down and be like I'm okay!!! Otherwise I do end up a mess! Have a beautiful day Marianne! <3

  13. Yes to everything, Rainbow! Giving myself the time to do things at my own pace has been something I've neglected to do for a while and a concept I found odd -- alien, if you'd like.

I'm a student taking a gap year to save up for college. Honestly, taking a gap year for college is something I've never thought about doing, and I used to be appalled by the idea in the past. I wanted to finish my A Levels and BAM go straight into college then BAM go straight into a job I love. Nope, not happening. Being able to accept that I can't do things at the "normal" pace and finally embracing it is nothing short of liberating.

I hope you have a great day, Rainbow!

  15. This is so true! Also, everyone takes a different amount of time to do something or get over something, so we shouldn't be judgemental :)

  16. I totally agree with you, that nowadays society has a lot of exceptations to us and sometimes we do something because we feel pressure, but to be honest, after you, you won't be able to say that this thing was "totally you" and instead of enjoying the moment you feel a little bit frustrating. Sometimes even the smallest break could be that crucial moment, which will change everything :)

  19. Rainbow, this is just so perfect! I've been so lost lately. I'm just so scared of not doing things before a certain time because I feel like if I don't then I've some how failed. But you're right! Its not a race and theres not need to be in a hurry. Things will happen when they will and they'll be much more worth it when you know that you took it one day at a time. It's so easy to get lost in constantly trying to get to the end of the race that we forget about ourselves all of the time!

Sometimes you have to say fuck it and do it your way and not the worlds way. Rebel with a cause! ;) Sending love your way girl, you are doing amazing things and you will do amazing things! Trust me!!! <3
